The Ghanaian club has officially announced the signing of 21-year-old midfielder Samuel Tenedu from another Ghana Premier league club Legon Cities, Ghana Soccernet reports. ย
Tenedu, who impressed with his performances in the Ghana Premier League, made 30 appearances last season and played a pivotal role in helping his former team avoid relegation.
Despite interest from multiple clubs, Asante Kotoko successfully secured Tenedu’s services on a three-year contract after he passed his medical tests. This signing is part of the club’s strategy to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, following a mixed campaign that saw them finish sixth in the league.
Tenedu, who hails from Obuasi, arrived in Kumasi on Wednesday morning to finalize the move and will join his new teammates for pre-season training immediately. Along with Tenedu, Asante Kotoko has also signed ten new players, including international recruits from Sudan, Congo, and Guinea. However, Tenedu’s acquisition is seen as particularly significant, with both the player and his representatives already agreeing on personal terms.
The addition of Tenedu is expected to strengthen Kotoko’s midfield and contribute to a successful campaign in the upcoming season.
