Swedish top-flight side AIK Solna has resolved and agreed to loan out budding Kenyan midfielder Stanley Wilson to Second Division outfit Skelleftea FF, The Nerve Africa sources have exclusively learned.
The 18-year-old joined AIK from Kenyan Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks in August this year for โฌ181,000 (26 million Kenyan Shillings) on a three-year contract. However, after just one appearance, he will spend the 2024/25 season at Skelleftea FF to further develop his growth.
A source at Global Sports Management, the player’s representatives, confirmed the developments. The source indicated that Skelleftea has assured Wilson of regular playing time and that he will return to his parent club in June next year.
โOur player (Wilson) is calm about the decision, and we have welcomed it with open arms, given the fact that he will get the chance to play week in, week out. This is an opportunity for him to showcase his abilities so that he can fight for his spot in the team when he eventually returns next year,โ the source told The Nerve Africa.
Last season (2023/24) at Kariobangi Sharks, Wilson made 32 appearances in the Kenyan Premier League, scoring four goals and providing seven assists as the team finished seventh with 48 points. He was ranked among the league’s best young players.
Despite being only 18, the youngster has already made an appearance with the Kenya national senior team, the Harambee Stars. He has also progressed through the national youth teams, playing for the U-15, U-17, U-20, and U-23 squads.
