Achievements with the National Team
In 2023, Adama Bojang, along with the Gambian U20 national team, participated in the CAF U-20 Afrcia Cup of Nations. He played in all matches, scoring four goals and providing an assist: his goal was the only one in the semi-final game against Nigeria.
However, in the decisive match, the Gambians lost to Senegal 0-2, securing only silver medals. In turn, Bojang tied with Senegalese forward Deo Bassinga for second place in the tournament’s top scorers list, trailing only Senegal’s midfielder Pape Diop by one goal. Additionally, the Gambian was selected for the team of tournament.
Six months later, the Gambian forward made his debut at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina. Adama Bojang scored a brace in the very first match of the group stage. The Gambian national team subsequently advanced to the playoffs from the top spot but lost in the round of 16 to the eventual champions from Uruguay.
Football and Financial Perspectives
In the 2023/2024 season, Adama Bojang has been more often appearing for Stade de Reims’ reserve team. The forward has played in seven matches, scoring eight goals. At the moment, the Gambian is the top scorer of the B team.
Additionally, Bojang has been involved with the main team. He was included to the squad for 11 matches across all competitions, but managed to appear on the pitch just four times.
It most likely, the Gambian forward will spend the remainder of the season with the Stade de Reims reserve team. Nevertheless, the outstanding results Adama Bojang has already achieved with Team B will surely bring him closer to regular appearances in Ligue 1.
