Kenyan national team midfielder Richard Odada could stay with Danish club Aalborg permanently after his loan deal ends in June this year, sources at The Nerve Africa have learned.
Odada’s parent club Philadelphia Union has given a green light for talks with Aalborg and the player’s representatives, SPOCS Global Sports, about a possible permanent deal.
The Nerve Africa also understands that Aalborg has tabled a three-year contract for the 23-year-old should the three parties reach common ground. His TransferMarket valuation is estimated at β¬330,000.
Aalborg’s head coach, Mathiad Haugaasen, has been particularly impressed with Odada’s tenacity, strength, and goal-scoring ability, despite his youth. Since joining Aalborg at the start of the 2023/2024 season, Odada has played 19 games in the Danish First Division, scoring four goals. He has also played one Landspokal Cup game with The Reds.
Odada has previously featured for Philadelphia Union II in the MLS Next Pro, Metalac, and Crvena Zvezda in the Serbian Super League. He also played for Graficar Beograd and FC Leopards in Serbia and Kenya, respectively.
Odada made his debut for the Harambee Stars (the Kenyan national senior team) in 2022 and has gone on to earn 15 official caps, scoring one goal. He played a starring role as Kenya beat Seychelles 5-0 and lost 1-0 to Gabon in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November last year.
