Highly-rated Ugandan midfielder Allan Mugalu has emerged as a top transfer target for Uganda Premier League giants Vipers SC and Belarusian side FC BATE Borisov, as per Africa Foot.
The 28-year-old is set to become a free agent when his contract with NEC FC expires on June 30, attracting serious interest from multiple clubs looking to secure his signature ahead of the new season.
Speaking exclusively to Africa Foot, Mugaluβs agent Jeromy Luyimbazi revealed that both BATE Borisov and Vipers have made formal approaches, and a decision will be made soon after evaluating the best option for the midfielderβs career.
βWe are carefully assessing offers from both BATE Borisov and Vipers to determine the best move for Allan,β said Luyimbazi. βRenewing with NEC remains on the table, but most of the focus has shifted to finding a new environment that will support his growth and ambitions.β
Mugalu has been a key figure for NEC this season, featuring in 23 matches across the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup. He has contributed three goals and five assists, showcasing his versatility and technical prowess in midfield.
Since joining NEC from Arua Hill SC last season, Mugalu has made 54 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists. At Arua Hill, he registered 37 appearances, scoring four goals and assisting six.
On the international stage, Mugalu has earned three caps for the Uganda national team during the βCranes Namutimaβ matches, though he is yet to record a goal or assist in national colours.
