Ugandan youngster Hakim Mutebi is close to completing a move to Tunisian Professional League side CA Bizertin, The Nerve Africa sources have exclusively learned.
The 18-year-old will join Bizertin after all parties involved reached an agreement on personal terms. The player is currently a free agent, having left reigning Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa in January.
A source from Mutebiβs representatives, Prosper Sports Agency, disclosed that the deal was finalized on Thursday, and the player is expected to fly to Tunisia on Monday to undergo medical tests and subsequently sign the contract.
βTalks held during the past week have borne fruit. His raw talent is highly appreciated, with Bizertin offering a three-year deal and the promise of significant playing time,β the source told The Nerve Africa.
Having played only the first half of the 2023/24 season, Mutebi featured in just eight Uganda Premier League matches. Over two seasons, he played 13 games, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
He has also previously played for Uganda’s prestigious secondary school, St Mary’s School Kitende, where he was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2023 East African Schools Championships.
Despite being a teenager, the attacking midfielder has already earned three caps for the Uganda National Senior team, the Cranes, scoring a single goal during the FUFA Super 8 tournament.
