Following his release by Scottish outfit Dundee United months ago, free agent Sadat Happy Anaku Ada is set to join English Football League Two side Port Vale, The Nerve Africa sources have exclusively learned.
The forward cut short his holidays in Kampala to fly out to England on Friday to finalize the deal. A close associate of the player disclosed to The Nerve Africa that it is Port Vale with which his camp has been in talks for the past week.
βItβs true Ada (Anaku) jetted to England, and he will most definitely finalize a move to Port Vale. The club wants to complete the deal as soon as possible, which is why his visa was cleared early. Unless something happens at the last minute, he will sign for four years; thatβs the offer on the table,β the source added.
This development helps quash recent rumors suggesting Anaku’s return to the Uganda Premier League with his boyhood club, KCCA FC. The 23-year-old left the latter in 2022 for Dundee United, where he spent the past two seasons.
Before injury setbacks last season (2023/24) at Dundee, Anaku, whose TransferMarket valuation is estimated at β¬175,000, had played 16 games during his debut season (2022/23), including three starts. He failed to score a goal but managed two assists.
Meanwhile, for the national senior team, the Uganda Cranes, Anaku has yet to make a competitive appearance despite receiving several call-ups just before his injury last year. He has, however, previously represented the country at the U-15, U-17, and U-20 levels.
