Ahead of the upcoming Ugandan Premier League season, the newly promoted Police FC has secured the services of Kevin Obua, the former captain of Proline FC, Swift Sports Uganda reports. The talented forward has signed a one-year contract with Police FC, with the potential for an additional year extension.
Obua, who made a name for himself last season by scoring eight goals for Proline FC, led his team to win the Kampala Regional League. Unfortunately, despite his stellar performance, Proline FC fell short in the Big League promotion playoff final against Ntungasaze FC.
The 24-year-old forward has deep roots in the sport, being the younger sibling of former Uganda Cranes player David Obua. Kevin Obua’s journey in football began with the Police FC Junior Team, and he is also an alumnus of Destiny Soccer Academy in Luzira.
Police FC, managed by Simon Peter Mugerwa, recently rejoined the Uganda Premier League after finishing at the top of the FUFA Big League table last season. This marks their return to the top tier after a two-year hiatus. The club has been active in strengthening its squad, having also signed Gerald Ogweti, a former striker for Lugazi FC and BUL FC.
