Chipolopolo winger Lubambo Musonda has joined German second-tier side FC Magdeburg from AC Horsens, Zam Foot reports.ย
Last season, the 29-year-old left full-back was on loan at Silkeborg IF, where he played 17 games in the Danish Superliga and seven games in the Superliga championship round. Musonda also helped his team win the Oddset Cup with a 1-0 victory in the final against Aarhus GF.
Both the head coach and the sporting director of Magdeburg FC expressed their happiness with the acquisition of the experienced Zambian international.
Otmar Schork, Sporting Director of 1. FC Magdeburg, said:
“With Lubambo, we are getting an internationally experienced player who can be used flexibly on the wings. We observed him for a long time last season and are happy that he has chosen us.โ
In August 2021, Musonda moved to Danish club AC Horsens, contributing to their promotion to the first division with 18 second division games (one goal, two assists) and later playing 22 games (three goals, three assists) in the Superliga and eight games in the relegation round until his loan to Silkeborg IF in August 2023. Internationally, Musonda has played 48 matches for Zambia, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
