According to The Nerve Africa sources, Zambian midfielder Clatous Chama may leave Simba SC when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Nerve Africa reported last December that the 32-year-old was considering a move away from the Tanzanian giants after being suspended for disciplinary reasons.
Following his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations in January, however, Chama returned to Tanzania and has remained an active member of the team.
His contract, along with those of Kibu Dennis and Mzamiru Yassin, will conclude at the season’s end. Additional sources close to the player noted that Chama was not only upset by the suspension but had also expressed a desire to exit the club.
Several clubs have shown interest in acquiring Chama’s services, with potential suitors including Azam FC and teams from South Africa.
Ahmed Ally, the club’s media officer, indicated that the club is eager to resolve their contract situations. “It’s true that the playersβ contracts are set to expire. Nonetheless, we intend to discuss their future with them, as we are not prepared to let them go,” Ally stated.
Chama, whose current market value is estimated at β¬175,000 by Transfermarkt, is also exploring opportunities in Europe, although his age may be a limiting factor.
