Besiktas’s stalwart defender, Omar Colley, has responded calmly to recent speculations surrounding his potential departure from the club at the end of the season.
Having become a cornerstone for Besiktas since joining in February 2023, Colley’s solid performances have been pivotal, contributing significantly to the team’s defensive prowess. Despite reports circulating in Turkish media hinting at his exit in June 2024, the Gambian international seemed unfazed by the rumors.
“In football, anything is possible. Let’s see what happens in the summer,” told Colley The Nerve Africa in response to the speculation, conveying an air of uncertainty regarding his future plans.
While the 31-year-old rejected an offer to return to Serie A with Salernitana during the winter transfer window, he remains open to potential moves in the upcoming transfer window. However, Colley made it clear that a return to Italy is not on his agenda.
According to Transfermarkt the playerβs current market value estimates at β¬3,5 million. Should Colley opt for a change of scenery, sources suggest that a move to Saudi Arabia is more likely than a return to familiar territories in Germany, Spain, or England. Nevertheless, given his experience and skill set, no destination can be entirely ruled out for the seasoned defender.Β
