The 21-year-old striker has caught the eye of the Sudanese giants with his impressive performance throughout the season. The formal request for Sakala’s signature was submitted by Al Hilal SC to Zesco United two weeks ago, expressing interest in either a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
Confirming the development, a source close to the situation revealed, “Yes, Zesco has received a transfer request from Sudan. I can confirm they want to buy or get him on loan.”
Sakala, who has been in sensational form for Zesco United, notably bagging consecutive braces in the Zambian Super League before the Africa Cup of Nations, is reportedly keen on embracing a new challenge.
However, despite Sakala’s willingness to explore new opportunities, the source noted a hesitancy from Zesco United’s end, citing concerns about finding a suitable replacement for the prolific forward.
Throughout the current campaign, Sakala has showcased his scoring prowess, netting seven goals in just 13 appearances for Zesco United.
The potential move to Al Hilal SC could mark an exciting chapter in Sakala’s burgeoning career, with discussions ongoing between the clubs regarding the striker’s future.
