Gambian football talent Yusupha Kambi is on the brink of a significant career move, with reports from The Nerve Africa sources indicating his imminent transfer to Slovakian club FK Pohronie.Β
The young attacking midfielder is poised to join FK Pohronie on a permanent deal from his current club, BST Galaxy FC, in the Gambian first-tier league.
Kambi played a pivotal role in BST Galaxy’s recent success, helping the team secure a runners-up finish in the Gambian second division last season. This achievement secured automatic promotion to the first division for BST, marking a notable milestone since the change of ownership to Gambian International Bubacarr Steve Trawally in 2022.
Should the deal materialize, Kambi will become the third player from BST Galaxy FC to venture abroad since the change in ownership. He follows in the footsteps of Musa Jatta, who also joined FK Pohronie, and Muhammed Hydara, who recently made his loan move to FK Ε½eleziarne PodbrezovΓ‘ permanent.
Despite Kambi’s departure, BST Galaxy FC is anticipated to continue reshaping its squad, with two more players expected to be traded out in the near future. While Kambi’s market value may not be established yet, his move underscores the growing recognition of Gambian talent on the international stage and represents a significant step forward in his promising career.
