Zimbabwean Striker Tino Kadewere Joins Nantes on Loan from Lyon in Bid for Redemption

Zimbabwean forward Tino Kadewere has completed a loan move to French Ligue 1 side Nantes from Olympique Lyonnais, according to Bola News. The deal is set to run until the end of the season.

Kadewere, who struggled to make an impact in the first half of the season with Lyon, is eager to revitalize his career. The striker made 11 appearances in the league, failing to contribute to goals or assists. His role was limited, starting in only two matches and appearing as a substitute in the remaining nine.

Since his return from a loan spell at Mallorca in Spain, marred by an injury last season, Kadewere has struggled to replicate the impressive form that marked his debut season at Lyon. During his time at Le Havre, he boasted an extraordinary record of 10 goals and three assists in 24 appearances, earning him a move to Lyon.

Despite Lyon’s recent three-game winning streak, Kadewere will now shift his focus to aiding Nantes, who have amassed only four points in their last eight games. Nantes currently sits in 13th position, two places above Lyon in 15th. The Zimbabwean striker, regarded as a crucial component in Nantes’ attacking unit, aims to redeem himself and help the team improve its performance.

As Kadewere embarks on this new chapter with Nantes, both the player and the club hope for a successful collaboration that will see the striker recapture his goal-scoring prowess and contribute significantly to Nantes’ climb up the Ligue 1 table.

The move includes a purchase option, automatically activated if Nantes secures their Ligue 1 status by the season’s close. According to Transfermarkt, Kadewere’s current market value is €2.5 million.
