49m people control almost half of world wealth

Although poverty levels have decreased significantly over the past six decades, there are still so many people in the world living in abject poverty.

The current levels of inequality in the world are outrageous and have condemned millions of people to penury.

In its Global Wealth Report 2015, Crédit Suisse, a Switzerland-based multinational financial services company dropped numbers that shows how the world’s wealth is distributed.

0.7 – People with a net worth of over $1 million represent just 0.7 percent of the world’s population, but they control 41 percent of its wealth.

3 – Just 3 percent of global wealth is controlled by 69 percent of the world’s population who have a net worth of under $10,000.

1414 percent of worldwide wealth is controlled by 23 percent of global population whose net worth is $10,000-$100,000 bracket.

2121 percent of the world’s adults have financial assets between $10,000 and $100,000.

7171 percent of the world’s adults have a wealth of less than $10,000 in 2015.

3,650 – Meanwhile, in order to be counted among the wealthiest half of the world’s citizens, a person requires a net worth of $3,650.
